How to recolor GunZ items

What you need:

Part 1: Installing of DDS Plug-In in GIMP

Step 1: Download those files and install GIMP.

Step 2: Unpack the files on your Desktop

Step 3: Cut and Paste the files to: C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins

Part 2: Opening / Editing Texture for Photoshop

Step 4: Unpack Mrs unpacker. Go to your dark gunz folder > Model.
Copy the man.mrs or woman.mrs (or both) into the folder, where the mrs unpacker is located. Run cmd.exe of the unpacker and type in: mrs.exe d man.mrs / woman.mrs
It should create a folder man or woman.

Step 5: Open Photoshop. Now go to Open and search for the folder you just unpacked. In there, you can find the textures. Just search the one you want to edit and open. (I'ma take Xian Top)

Step 6: Now comes the funny and creative part: Some photoshop knowledge should be available, if not just search some tut vids on youtube. Now you can either recolor or retexture. I will recolor because I'm just too lazy -.- This is my outcome:

Step 7: Now you can either save it or go directly to Part 3 of this tutorial. To save it go to File>Save as... At format select dds/dd3 and name it "name_of_item".tga.dds

Step 8: Now recompile your man/woman.mrs and put it back in your dark gunz>model folder.
To test it in game make sure you run gunz.exe, not the launcher!!

Part 3: Alpha channel

Step 7.1: Go to Channels in the layers box and click like in the pic:

Step 7.2: Now go to the Alpha Channel you just created and start brushing your transparence.
White colors ----> No transparency
Grey colors ----> Half transparency (every shades of grey give different levels of transparency)
Black colors ----> Full transparency

Step 8.1 Save it again. This time make sure there's a tick at "Alpha Channels" like in the picture.

Now, copy exactly the same settings like in this pic:

Recompile it again and you can test it in game.
